Florida is one of the hardest climates in America on exterior paint. Intense UV, daily summer storms, high humidity, and — near the coast — salt air all attack your home's finish year-round. That's why our exterior painting process is prep-first: the difference between a paint job that lasts four years and one that lasts eight is almost always what happened before the paint went on.

Our Prep-First Exterior Process

We start with a full pressure wash or soft wash to strip away mildew, chalking, and salt film. Then failing paint is scraped and sanded, gaps and joints are re-caulked, bare spots are spot-primed, and stucco cracks are properly filled — not just painted over. Only then do we apply two coats of premium weather-resistant exterior paint to siding, stucco, trim, soffits, fascia, and doors.

Coastal home?

Homes in Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach, and Ponte Vedra Beach weather faster from salt exposure. We choose coating systems specifically rated for coastal conditions — read more on how salt air affects exterior paint.

Surfaces We Paint

Stucco, hardie board and other fiber-cement siding, wood siding and trim, block, brick, soffits, fascia, garage doors, entry doors, and shutters. We repair minor wood rot and stucco damage as part of prep so you're not painting over problems.

How Often Should You Repaint in Florida?

Most Northeast Florida homes need exterior repainting every five to eight years — sooner within a mile or two of the ocean. If your paint is chalking when you rub it, fading unevenly, or cracking at the caulk lines, it's time for an assessment. Estimates are always free.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an exterior paint job last in Florida?

With proper prep and quality coatings, five to eight years is typical in the Jacksonville area. Coastal homes see the shorter end of that range due to salt air, while inland homes with good drainage and shade can stretch longer.

What time of year is best for exterior painting in Jacksonville?

Fall through spring is ideal — lower humidity and less daily rain. Summer exterior painting is still very doable; we simply plan around afternoon storms and allow proper cure time between coats.

Do you repair stucco cracks and wood rot before painting?

Yes. Minor stucco crack repair and wood rot replacement are part of our standard prep. Painting over damage just hides it for a season — fixing it first is why our work lasts.
